What is the time period for the orbit trajectory displayed?

It'll pock a window as it did on an STS mission in the 80's or less. The ISS is not run by stupid people, the leading edge where impacts will be at their greatest velocity is reinforced. It's true that at the ISS' linear velocity and a paint chip's linear velocity, it could cause massive damage, but that's not counting that the ISS is reinforced along that axis and performs a rotation per orbit to maintain its orientation.
Wow, pretty bloody cool. Not so good for geostationary satellites tho, google earth isn't quite happy being zoomed that far out, although it does work Fri Aug 29, 9: Is there any way to make that a user-generated input? Another thing that would be handy and cool is to group satellite classes into sub-groups so you could easily turn on a constellation like all of the Iridiums or all of the GPSs for example.
Unfortunately they used to have a better version of that one up, one with better framerate so it looked less choppy, but it's gone now. I'm hoping they fix these in a near-future version. I thought I had other things that annoyed me as well, but I can't think of them right now. You can zoom out far enough to see the GEO belt, but it's hard to get "close" to a satellite or it's trajectory. I had to exaggerate the size of the icons in order for them to even be seen.
GE doesn't seem to do well with things that far away from the earth. For instance, if you show the orbit track for the DirectTV satellite, you can see it's there, but if you try and fly to it, GE flys past it, every time, you can't get close to it.

You can't "track" an object, so if you zoom to the ISS and it moves, you won't follow it. You also can't rotate the camera around the object, GE is always "looking at" the ground, so all rotation is around the earth. Google Earth only works in the fixed frame, so orbits look a little funky if you're used to dealing with inertial.
CTRL-F to find in the placemark tree doesn't work very well. Dec 4, Posts: Most of it is just that, crap. Even a paint fleck in orbit can tear through the ISS if they collided.
We even put lots of crap up there in the 60s without thinking about the implications. Wikipedia has a good write-up on the subject here. While writing this, I discovered some of the more interesting junk up there. Once you have done this, then the satellite shows up on the main Satellite Tracking display on the right. Oh, one other thing: If you have no other software for rig control such as Ham Radio Deluxe, the install subdirectory that comes with PstRotator includes Omni Rig which is pretty trivial to set up. No hassles, no complexities and it seems to work equally well with the linear birds as well as the FM birds.
It is now easy for me to work the satellites with a single radio — my Yaesu FT However, a cheaper approach for full dux is to add a non-dongle SDR like my SDRplay — and use that for the receive side to have full duplex operation! With at least a 18 current, popular ham radio satellites circling the earth that you can work and with at least two more scheduled to be launched in , this is a great time for you to finally get active on the satellites!
